The recent days of clashes in Iran, made me to think about the relationship between art and dictatorship.
Art has been used by dictators, tyrants and rulers as a political tool to communicate the message of the leaders to the public. But most predominantly, art has also been used against the dictatorship: as a tool to communicate “the” hidden message to its public.
In the following posts, I would like to discuss about the relationship between art and dictatorship. For now enjoy Chaplin’s monologue in The Great Dictator from 1940!
